Fish in Typical Bengali style: Maacher Kaliya

Hello everyone. You must be confused that what is Maach? I think some of you should be knowing.. For those who don't know, Maach is Fish (used in Bengali language) Well it is more tasty and delicious than its
name

Maacher Kailya
Fried Fish Piece


Ingredients: -
Fish- 4-6 pieces.
Onion (finely chopped) - 1 no.
Garlic clove - 5-6 nos.
Ginger- 1 inch
Tomato- 1 no.
Coriander leaves.
Coriander Seeds- 1 tbsp

Red chilly powder- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Garam masala- 1/4 tsp

Cooking oil
Salt to taste
Cloves, Cardamom, Bay leaf(tej patta) - each 2 nos. for tadka.


Method: -

  • Garnish the fish with turmeric powder and salt. Mix it well, and keep it aside for 10 mins.
  • Then deeply fry the pieces of fish in very hot oil.
  • Bake the coriander seeds and grind with ginger, garlic and tomato together, to make a paste.
  • Now take some cooking oil in another pan, and put the tadka ingredients stated above.
  • Add finely chopped onions in that oil, and fry it till it becomes golden brown in colour.
  • Then put the ginger-garlic paste. Stir it well and put a little amount of water. 
  • Fry it for 2-3 mins.
  • Add the spices (red chilly powder, turmeric powder and garam masala). 
  • Fry it again for 8-10 mins. Add a little amount of water if necessary.
  • Pour 1 and 1/2 glass of luke warm water and cook it with lid on it for 8-10 mins.
  • Now add the fish pieces waiting in the bowl to the pan, and cook it for 3-4 mins.
  • Now decorate it with coriander leaf and use some of your ideas too.....And serve it with chapati or rice (or you can do both)

Fish in Typical Bengali style: Macher Jhol

Readers, this is the awaited recipe of Fish in typical bengali style: Macher Jhol, without any onion garlic. It is easy to digest, and delicious to eat. Be sure to comment, and follow....
Maacher Jhaal
Ingredients: -
Garnished Fish Pieces
River Fish: 4-5 pieces.
Yellow mustard seeds: 2 tbsp.
Khus-khus: 1 tbsp.
Ginger: One and half inches.
Green chilly: 2-3 nos.
Red chilly powder: 1/4 tsp.
Tomato: 1 no.
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp.
Salt to taste.
Mustard oil(If you like, otherwise use any cooking oil)
Coriander leaf: for garnishing.
Kalongi, Methi dana(fenugreek seeds), Jeera, Fennel seeds(saunf) - mix all together in 1/2 tbsp for tadka.

Method: -
  • Garnish the fish pieces with 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, salt, 1 tsp mustard oil and keep it aside.
  • Grind mustard seeds, khus-khus, ginger, green chilly tomato together in a mixer and make a paste.
  • Heat the oil in a pan and put fish pieces and let it fry lightly for just 3-5 mins, but for both sides.
  • Take out the fish pieces from the pan.
  • Put the tadka materials in hot oil.
  • Add above paste in oil and stir it well in medium flame for 3-5 mins.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder. Stir well. Add water.
  • When water starts to boil, add salt. Cover it with lid and cook it for 2-3 mins.
  • Now, add fish pieces and cover it. Again cook it for 3-5 mins.
  • Garnish it with coriander leaf and 1/2 tsp mustard oil. 
  • Serve it with hot rice, and surely with your love....

Something Veg: Matar Paneer

Hello everyone, today I have bought the recipe of Matar Paneer, which everyone would like to eat at every occasion. Simply to cook, Delicious to eat.


Ingredients(click to zoom)

Ingredients: -
Matar(peas beans)- 200gm
Paneer cubes- 100 gm
Onion (finely chopped) - 1 no.
Garlic clove - 5-6 nos.
Ginger- 1 inch
Tomato- 1 no.
Coriander leaves.
Red chilly powder- 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Garam masala- 1/4 tsp

Cooking oil

Salt to taste

Cloves, Cardamom, Bay leaf(tej patta) - each 2 nos. for tadka.

Matar paneer(click to zoom)

Method: -
  • Make a paste of ginger,garlic and tomato all together in a mixer.
  • Fry Paneer cubes in oil till they become golden brown in color.
  • Then soak the fried paneer cubes in water for 5 mins.
  • Then put cloves, cardamom and bayleaf in hot oil.
  • And now put finely chopped onion in oil and fry till they become golden brown.
  • Add the ginger-garlic-tomato paste which we made in the first step, and fry it for 2-3 mins.
  • Now add all the spices and garam masala. (put little amount of water if necessary)
  • Fry it for 8-10 mins.
  • Finally, put the matar's waiting outside in the oil.
  • Fry it again for 2-3 mins, and add the water in which paneer was soaked.(only water now)
  • Add salt to taste, and cover it with lid and cook it in minimum flame till matar becomes well cooked.
  • Now put the paneer cubes and cook again for 2-3 mins.
  • Now turn off the flame and put coriander leaves on it.
  • Aand you are done. Now serve it with chapati, rice, puri or paratha, or whatever but love is must...

Upavas Special: Sabudana Vada

       Fasting? But want to eat something delicious? I have bought something easy-to-cook and something which can change your family's taste. Here it is....

Ingredients: -
Sabudana- 250gm (soaked in water for 4-5 hrs)
Potato- 2 (medium small sized, boiled and peeled)
Peanut- 100gm baked
Green chilly- 1 or 2 pieces
Coriander leaf- finely chopped
Red chilly powder/Black pepper- 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Cooking oil for frying.



How to prepare? See below: -
  • Grind the baked peanuts. (not very fine)
  • Mash the potatoes in a bowl and mix it with soaked sabudana and all spices, green chilly, coriander leaf, and peanut powder.
  • Make small small balls of the above mixture.
  • Press the balls slightly using your hands and give it shape according to you.
  • Heat the cooking oil in frying pan, sim down the flame and put vadas in it one-by-one.
  • Fry all vadas in medium flame, till they become golden brown.
  • Take it out on a sheet of tissue paper.
  • Now, serve it according to you with sweet curd or green chutney.
  • And you are done.........

Tyoharo ki Bahaar Coconut Kesari

       Hello readers, as our India is a country of festivals more than the days in year, Sweet is must for each of them as it not only adds sweetness in our taste, but also in our relations. That's why, I again bought a simple but tasty recipe of an all time favorite sweet dish.

Ingredients: -


Mawa- 100 gm
Coconut powder- 200 gm
Sugar- 200 gm
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Dryfruits- Pista and Badam. (You can add more for decorating)
Edible Saffron color

Method: -

  • Take mawa in cooking pan, and cook it for 7-8 mins in medium flame.
  • Allow the mawa to set in cold.
  • Now mix/saute coconut powder with mawa very well(mix it using your hands)
  • Take 100 ml of water in a pan, and heat it.
  • When it starts to boil, add sugar in it and half of cardamom powder.
  • Boil the sugar syrup till it becomes thick(ek taar ki chaashni)
  • Now turn off the flames, add edible saffron color(food coloring) in syrup and stir well.
  • Then put the mixture of coconut and mawa in it.
  • Take it out in a greasy plate.
  • And again use your hands to set the paste which we took out.
  • Now sprinkle cardamom powder and decorate with dryfruits, and keep it in refrigerator to set for 1/2 hour.
  • After 2-3 hrs, cut the cubes according to you.
  • And serve it with love to your family :)

Whats cooking? It's Palak Paneer this time!!

              Hello readers, today I have bought a simple but a very tasty dish which is suitable for every occasion. Okay, so everything depends on you, what you what to add in extra or what you don't want to, because this is just an idea for you. I have made a step-by-step post, which shows how easy it is to make Palak Paneer.

Ingredients: -
Spinach - 250gm
Paneer(cubes are better) -100gm
Onion (medium sized) - 1
Tomato Purie - 2 tbsp
Ginger-Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Garam Masala - 1/4th tsp
Turmuric powder -  1/4th tsp
Red Chillipowder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Cooking Oil
and Fresh Cream


Method: -
  • Let the green leafs of spinach dipped in hot-boiled water for 5-7 mins.
  • Remove the leafs from water, and grind it in Mixer.
  • Take 2 tsp of cooking oil in cooking pan, and let it become hot.
  • Fry the Paneer cubes in the oil till it becomes golden brown.
  • Take it out from the oil.
  • take finely chopped onions and fry them till they become golden brown.
  • Now add Ginger Garlic paste and cook it for 1-2 mins.
  • Now add tomato purie and all spices.
  • Pour a little amount of water and fry it for 4-5 mins.
  • Now add Spinach paste and stirr it well, and then add salt to taste.
  • Cover the pan and cook it for 7-8 mins, and add Paneer cubes in the pan.
  • Cook it with lid for 2 mins.
  • Now serve it in a serving bowl and decorate it with fresh cream, and you are done!!
